Neighborhood
Legal Services Inc., the largest provider of civil legal services in Western
New York, seeks applicants for up to a 6 month temporary paralegal position in
Buffalo/Niagara Falls, New York. Full-time,
work with persons denied SSI or Social Security disability benefits. Interview
clients, review Social Security files, develop evidence, and represent clients
at administrative hearings. Previous advocacy experience involving poor
and/or disabled individuals preferred, but training will be provided. Must
have excellent written and oral communication skills, empathy for clients, and
capacity to analyze cases using complex regulations. Spanish
speaking/writing ability a plus. Salary depending on experience,
