Family Court Attorney
Hiscock Legal Aid Society, Syracuse, New York seeks an attorney to represent adult clients in Family Court matters, including Abuse/Neglect, Custody/Visitation and Support Violation cases. This position presents a unique opportunity to gain significant litigation experience, and obtain training on a wide variety of family court matters.  Our attorneys are in court almost on a daily basis.  The attorneys in the family court program are very passionate and knowledgeable. They routinely collaborate on cases to provide strong, zealous advocacy for our clients.  HLAS works as a team to provide our clients holistic representation which provides the attorneys with access to a vast amount of knowledge and experience including practice areas beyond family court.  The Family Court Program team includes law assistants and other support staff who assist attorneys with daily tasks, including but not limited to service, screening, scheduling, discovery, correspondence and client advocacy. Our more experienced attorneys are provided with opportunities and encouraged to present at CLE's and other legal platforms or community events. A demonstrated commitment to public-interest law and to serving the indigent required.

Admission to New York State Bar required.  

Salary: D.O.E. + Excellent benefits including low cost health, dental, life, and vision insurance, 401k, PTO, and Eligibility for the Federal Government's Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program
