Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. (LASMNY) is hiring two
positions to perform Disability Advocacy Program (DAP) services throughout the
geographic area served by LASMNY as needed. Applicants may be attorneys licensed in the
State of New York or paralegals. This
positions can be located in our Utica, Syracuse or Binghamton office, it is
anticipated that some travel will be required.
Job Responsibilities: The staff attorney or paralegal will represent clients in
administrative proceedings and hearings before Administrative Law Judges to
obtain SSD/SSI benefits. The staff attorney or paralegal will also provide
comprehensive legal services including advice, negotiation and administrative
advocacy and will carry a full caseload. The position also requires that the
staff attorney or paralegal satisfy grant and office reporting requirements.
The staff attorney or paralegal will work under the supervision of a managing
attorney.
Qualifications: Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
Salary depending on experience.
